2001: A Space Odyessy

The Astor and First Contact Conventions presents a special event: Keir Dullea (Dave Bowman) and Gary Lockwood (Frank Poole) appearing live at two special showings of 2001:A Space Odyssey on Sunday 24th September.

Keir and Gary signed autographs and posed for photos for most of the afternoon and evening, and gave a 1 hour Q&A after each showing of the movie.

Signing all the day long!

We opened the doors at about 1pm, and the with exception of when the movies were running, it was non stop until the wee hours of the morning. Kier and Gary were happy to sign and pose for photos as long as the public wanted them.

On Stage - Afternoon Session

It was decided at the last minute that it was more sensible to run the movie and do the Q&A afterwards. This meant anyone who needed to leave early didn't miss the movie - and made for a far more relaxing event all up.

On Stage - Evening Session

A repeat of the afternoon showing. We introduced the guys at the beginning of the movie so everyone knew what the order of business was. We showed the movie and then Kier and Gary come on stage for a 1 hour Q&A.
