Sci-Fi Extreme's Star Trek Convention

Featuring guests Jonathan Frakes and Gigi Edgley (Garrett Wang was not able to attend).

I was only able to go on the Sunday (it was a weekend event), so if anything interesting happened on Saturday you won't find a photo here unfortunately. Of course, having met Jonathan now, I wish I could have afforded the whole weekend - great bloke!!

The Sunday Convention

Sunday was a tad disorganised, as Gigi was running massively late, and Matt Newton didn't show for some reason. However it was all made good as soon as Jonathan stepped on stage, in the morning to say hi before the photo session, late ron the day for his Q&A, then the auction and autographs. The fact is we were here to see Mr Frakes - and it was good.

Costumes on Sunday

A small number of people were dressed in costume today - all of them very well done - congratulations on the effort - you all did very well!

The Auction

There were some top class items in the auction which I won't go on about as I didn't have money to bid for any…sigh. I do have photos of monst of the items sold if anyone is especially interested. Most of the photos here are of Jonathan as he helped to auction one of two posters created especially for this weekend by Glen… Money raised on the poster was donated to charity.

Jonathan Frakes

Star trek TNG's Commander Riker (yes I know he was promoted in Nemesis, but I prefer to pretend that movie never happend alright?…).

Despite suffering from Jetlag (he only arrived on Friday and flew out Monday so the poor bloke managed the whole weekend on adrenaline I think…) he was a dynamo on stage, always moving around as he acted out whatever story he was telling (including one of Patrick Stewart entereing the holodeck singing the sound of music once… You'll spot the photo of that story)

Gigi Edgley

Chiana on Farscape. Gigi was running late today, so sadly wasn't able to spend any time on stage. I asked if I could take some photos of her during her brief autograph session…

Nora's Photos

Some of you may know, Nora (who *is* Sci-Fi Extreme) has hospitalised only a few days before the event. Cathryn and Glen stepped up to the plate and did a fantastic job pulling together everything at the last minute (mucho kudos guys!).

However Nora managed to pull herself out of bed and attend briefly on Sunday afternoon, along with her son Josh, who has also been ill. I was able to take some photos for them while there were here…
